INDIGENOUS PLANET
go native series
I am Indigenous to, born & raised in the Polynesian region of the Pacific; American Samoa to be exact. And I have always loved sharing my Native cultures with everyone in great kindness, carefulness - as is our Native way.
In my adult years, I have also been ceremonially Hunka in the Lakota culture. Under the direction of informed traditional Tribal Elders there, I also shared what they wanted in Culture and Arts offerings to the public.
In my teaching career, I was full time faculty at a Tribal College for Native American communities (on/off Reservations) on the Northern Great Plains, and I currently Adjunct teaching Hula and various Indigenous Pacific Island dances on the Brigham Young University - Hawaii campus (where I was once an undergraduate student). I also continue to participate as cultural presenter and dancer at the Polynesian Cultural Center [PCC] in Hawaii in various tasks. I worked here years ago as a university student, and when I graduated from the nearby BYUHawaii all those years ago, I had always missed the PCC. It's always wonderful to return there.
In New York City where I currently reside, I have formed a Pacific region Indigenous cultural song/dance troupe called, LUAU POLYNESIA. I love participating, teaching, and performing our beautiful home dances to audiences in a multicultural metropolis setting.
I continue to live Indigenous in my lifestyle no matter where I sojourn.
So it's really not unusual that I offer fantastic, unique opportunities for respectful and adventurous fellow travelers to enjoy what First Nations of every continent offer in immersive Culture & Arts experiences.
